BOOKING + AVAILABILITY
Before You Book
Answers about availability, meetings, contracts and who will be DJing your event.
How long has Mike Drop Productions been in business?
Mike Drop Productions was established in 2017.
Who will actually be the DJ at my event?
Mike will personally be the DJ for your event. Mike Drop Productions is owner-operated, with Mike handling the planning, communication and event-day DJ service directly.
Do you book multiple DJ events on the same date?
Mike Drop Productions accepts one primary DJ event per date.
Can we meet before booking?
Yes. Phone and video calls are available if you would like to talk with Mike before booking. In-person consultations are not currently offered.
Do you have a contract?
Yes. A signed agreement and non-refundable deposit are required to secure your event date. Your proposal and invoice will show the applicable deposit and payment schedule.
How far in advance are you booked?
Availability varies by date. The best way to find out is to use the Check Availability page for your event date.
Do you travel outside Saskatoon?
Yes. Mike Drop Productions travels for events outside Saskatoon. Travel fees, accommodations or other travel costs may apply depending on the location and event logistics.
What types of events do you DJ?
Mike Drop Productions provides DJ and event entertainment for weddings, graduation celebrations, corporate events, special events and other private or public events. Some services, including MC/event hosting and Photo Booth, are also available separately.

WEDDING DJ SERVICES
What’s Included
Answers about ceremony audio, reception music, MC services, lighting and other wedding entertainment options.
Do you provide ceremony audio?
Yes. Ceremony service can include pre-ceremony music, ceremony music, a wireless microphone and music during the guest exit. Ceremony service can be provided at the reception venue or at a separate ceremony location when arranged in advance.
Can the ceremony and reception be at different locations?
Yes. Ceremony audio can be provided at a separate location from the reception. Separate sound can also be arranged for cocktail hour when it takes place in another area or location.
Do you provide music during cocktail hour and dinner?
Yes. Background music can be provided during cocktail hour and dinner and tailored to the atmosphere and preferences you want for that part of the reception.
Do you provide microphones for speeches?
Yes. Wireless microphone support is available for speeches and announcements. Additional microphones can be arranged when needed.
Do you offer professional wedding MC services?
Yes. Professional MC and event-hosting services are available as an additional service. Mike can handle announcements, introductions, reception flow, formal dances, the shoe game and other planned moments throughout the wedding.

Do you offer a Photo Booth for weddings?

Do you provide wedding lighting?
Yes. Lighting is included with the wedding DJ setups, with the amount and type of production varying between the Standard, Deluxe and Elite packages.
What is the difference between the Standard, Deluxe and Elite wedding packages?
All three packages cover the core wedding-day DJ services. Standard uses the simplest production setup. Deluxe adds totems, moving-head lighting, intelligent uplighting and atmospheric haze. Elite expands the lighting further and adds experiences including Dance On A Cloud, mirror ball effects and the Magic Mirror Photo Booth.
CHECK AVAILABILITY
Can we add more dance time?
Yes. Additional dance time can be added when available. Venue restrictions, event timing and accommodations may affect how late service can continue.
Can you accommodate live musicians or instruments?
Possibly. Live instruments and musicians can be accommodated on a case-by-case basis. Additional equipment or charges may apply depending on what needs to be connected to the sound system.
Can you DJ a fully outdoor wedding reception?
Yes, provided there is reliable power and adequate shelter to protect the DJ equipment from weather and the elements.
Do you require a vendor meal?
Yes. A vendor meal is required when Mike Drop Productions is providing full-day services.

MUSIC + REQUESTS
Your Music, Your Direction
Answers about playlists, guest requests, song preferences and the music played during your event.
Can we give you a Spotify playlist or inspiration playlist?
Yes. Inspiration playlists from Spotify, Apple Music or other streaming platforms are welcome. They are an easy way to show Mike the songs, artists and overall musical direction you want.
Can we give you a Must-Play list?
Yes. Your planning questionnaire gives you the opportunity to identify songs that are important to you and should be incorporated into the event.
Can we tell you what not to play?
Yes. You can provide a Do-Not-Play list so Mike knows which songs, artists or styles you do not want played.
Do you take guest requests?
Yes, unless you choose otherwise during planning. Requests are considered alongside your music preferences, Do-Not-Play list and what is working with the crowd.
Do you play explicit music?
Mike carries both clean and explicit versions of music. Explicit music can be played when requested by the client.
We need a specific song or version. Can you get it?
If a particular song, remix, clean edit or version is important to your event, submit it in advance. Mike will make reasonable efforts to source it through available music sources, but music that is unavailable cannot be guaranteed.
How do you keep your music library up to date?
Mike maintains music through professional and licensed music sources and regularly updates the library with current releases as well as music used for weddings and events.

EQUIPMENT + BACKUP PLANNING
Prepared for the Unexpected
Answers about backup equipment, internet access, insurance and what the DJ setup looks like at your event.
Do you bring backup DJ equipment?
Yes. Mike brings backups of important systems so he can continue performing if something goes wrong. This includes backup DJ hardware, a backup laptop and backup speakers.
What happens if your laptop or primary DJ equipment fails?
Backup equipment is available for critical parts of the DJ system. If a primary component fails, Mike can move to backup equipment and continue the event.
Do you need Wi-Fi to DJ the event?
No. Internet access is not required for the core DJ service. Some additional services may use an internet connection, and Mike carries cellular hotspot capability when needed.
Are you insured?
Yes. Mike Drop Productions carries liability and equipment insurance.
Do you take breaks while DJing?
There are no scheduled DJ breaks. Music continues throughout the booked service, although Mike may briefly step away when necessary.
Will there be Mike Drop Productions banners or advertising around the DJ booth?
No. The setup is intentionally clean and largely unbranded. The only visible Mike Drop Productions logo is normally on the laptop lid.
What do you wear when DJing a wedding?
Mike typically wears chino pants with a Mike Drop Productions branded polo for weddings.

VENUE + EVENT LOGISTICS
What the Venue Needs
Answers about space, power, setup access, outdoor events and how Mike works with the rest of your vendor team.
How much space do you need for the DJ setup?
The DJ service requires a minimum performance area of approximately 15 feet wide by 10 feet deep. Additional space may be required when Photo Booth, Dance On A Cloud or other services are included.
What power do you need?
The DJ setup requires reliable electrical power, including two electrical outlets on a 15-amp circuit. Additional services may have additional power requirements.
How long do you need to set up?
Approximately two hours of venue access is normally required before the event for setup. More time may be needed when load-in involves stairs, elevators, long distances or other logistical challenges.
What do you need for an outdoor event?
Outdoor events require reliable electrical power and adequate shelter from rain, wind and other weather conditions so the equipment can be operated safely.
Do you coordinate with our photographer, venue and other vendors?
Mike does not normally coordinate the wedding timeline with other vendors before the event. During the event, he stays in communication with photographers, venue staff and other vendors to help ensure everyone is ready before important moments happen.
When do you need our final timeline and music selections?
Final timeline details and music selections are due two weeks before the wedding date.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes. Credit cards and INTERAC e-Transfer are accepted.

CHANGES + CANCELLATIONS
When Plans Change
Answers about postponements, cancellations, refunds and circumstances that prevent an event from going ahead as planned.
Can we change our wedding or event date after booking?
Yes. An event may be postponed according to the terms of the signed agreement. Any new date is subject to Mike Drop Productions’ availability, and payments or credits are handled according to how far in advance the event is postponed.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms are outlined in the signed agreement. If an event is cancelled more than six months before the event date, payments received are refunded except for the non-refundable deposit. Between three and six months before the event, 50% of the total invoice is due. Less than three months before the event, 100% of the total invoice is due.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are governed by the signed agreement. A refund may apply if qualifying company-owned equipment fails or if Mike Drop Productions does not provide a contracted service. Any refund is limited to the affected service and remains subject to the terms and exclusions in the agreement.
What happens if Mike cannot make it to my wedding or event?
If Mike Drop Productions is unable to perform because of illness, emergency, accident or another circumstance beyond reasonable control, Mike Drop Productions may either provide a suitable replacement or refund all amounts actually paid by the client.
